Sweepstakes Casinos in Florida
Available — Florida has no statute banning sweepstakes casinos, but the Florida Attorney General sued Stake.us and VGW in August 2026 alleging illegal gambling. The suits are pending.
Legal Status in Florida
Sweepstakes casinos are available to Florida residents in 2026. Florida has a complex gambling landscape — the Seminole Tribe holds a compact with the state covering tribal casinos, and commercial gambling is tightly regulated. Florida has no statute that specifically bans sweepstakes casinos, and operators structure their platforms as promotional sweepstakes rather than gambling. That position is now being tested: on August 19, 2026, the Florida Attorney General sued Stake.us and VGW (the operator of Chumba Casino and LuckyLand Slots), alleging illegal gambling and deceptive practices. The suits were pending as of October 2026, and no court has ruled on whether the sweepstakes model violates Florida gambling law.
Major sweepstakes platforms — including Crown Coins, LoneStar, McLuck, Stake.us, and Pulsz — still accept Florida players as of this update, though the outcome of the Attorney General's lawsuits could change that. Florida's population of 22.6 million makes it one of the largest player bases in sweepstakes gaming, and the platforms invest heavily in making their services available to FL residents.
One thing to note: Florida passed legislation in 2021 expanding the Seminole gaming compact to include online real-money sports betting. This is a separate system from sweepstakes casinos and does not affect sweepstakes platform availability in the state.
