Modo is an established mid-tier sweepstakes casino. It ranks #9 in Blask's October 2026 demand ranking with 3.12% of category demand, down 25.44% year over year, per RG.org (October 13, 2026). Its strongest point is the cash-out side. Modo's own rules set a 20 SC gift-card minimum and a 50 SC cash minimum, and its help center lists ACH, debit card, PayPal, Cash App and a paid Trustly Instant option. Its 4.4 Trustpilot score across more than 9,600 reviews holds up. The weaker points: the free sign-up headline is only 20,000 Gold Coins, SC play is off in 18 states, and the rules let Modo raise the playthrough on free SC to as much as 30x. ARB Gaming also faces open lawsuits and an Illinois cease-and-desist. We checked every offer, limit and state below against Modo's own Sweepstakes Rules and Terms of Use (both updated October 1, 2026) on October 29, 2026. We don't have a referral link yet, so the buttons on this page are disabled.

Our Verification Breakdown
What we checked ourselves, category by category. The headline score is the industry median, adjusted for Caution flags from our complaint audit — see how we score.
Federal suit (E.D. California): Player Matthew Joyce is suing ARB Gaming LLC (dba Modo.us) in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, Sacramento Division. Affirm, Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Apple and Amazon are co-defendants. Per an amended complaint reported in April 2026 (MacTech, April 14; Casino.org, April 15), he alleges that Modo kept him in its top VIP tier while he was in a documented mental-health crisis, misrepresented return-to-player rates, and delayed withdrawals. He claims violations of the ADA and California's Unruh Act, among others, and seeks more than $1.6 million. These are unproven allegations. Modo and ARB had not commented as of those reports, and we found no ruling. Reports also disagree on his state of residence.
Illinois: The Illinois Gaming Board sent Modo a cease-and-desist letter in February 2026 as part of a sweep of more than 60 operators. ARB says it disagrees with the board's legal interpretation, and the site remained available in Illinois (Chicago Sun-Times, July 2, 2026). Separately, Harris v. ARB Gaming LLC (N.D. Ill., No. 25-cv-12129) is a proposed class action in which ARB moved to compel arbitration (court opinion dated July 21, 2026). Modo's Terms of Use include a binding-arbitration and class-action-waiver clause, with a 30-day opt-out.
State exits: Modo halted prize-redeemable play in Tennessee in late 2025 and kept Gold Coin play there (CasinoBeats, December 2025). In Oklahoma it stopped selling SC-bonus packages on October 1, 2026, and SC play and redemptions end November 1, 2026 (Modo help center; Covers, October 15, 2026). We'll update this box as these cases develop.

1. Log in and click Envelope Request Code. You get a unique 12-digit code and a statement to copy, valid for 30 days.
2. On an unlined, unfolded 4x6 index card, handwrite your full name as it appears on your ID, your account email, your registered home address, the code, and the exact statement. Then sign and date it.
3. Mail one card per envelope, posted from the state on your verified address, to:

How to Redeem at Modo: Minimums, Methods & Timeline
From Modo's Sweepstakes Rules §7–9 and help center · Verified October 29, 2026
| Gift Cards (Prizeout) | Cash (ACH · Debit · PayPal) | |
| Minimum | 20 SC | 50 SC |
| Modo's stated timing | Often instant unless under review | Reviewed within ~24h, then up to 5 business days at the bank. Paid Instant option via Trustly |
| Outer limit in rules | Up to 30 days in some cases; no processing time is guaranteed | |
| Frequency / caps | One redemption per account per day · Florida: $5,000 per monthly entry period | |
| Playthrough | 1x per the help center. The rules let Modo require up to 30x on free SC | |
| Verification | KYC can include photo ID, facial scan, proof of address and SSN. SSN is required once redemptions top $600 | |
The method details matter. Debit-card redemptions only work with a Visa or Mastercard debit card you've already used for a purchase on Modo, and prepaid cards are refused. If you've never bought anything, plan on bank transfer, PayPal or a gift card. PayPal is available only after you upload a PayPal direct-deposit form in the Verifications tab. Cash App works when added as a bank account using its routing and account numbers. Standard payouts go out in a daily batch, which Modo says typically sends at 5 PM ET.
What players report. Recent 5-star Trustpilot reviews often mention quick verification and same-day payouts. The 1-star reviews from October 2026 describe held redemptions, requests to verify unfamiliar cards, closed accounts, and complaints about low game RTP. We read the large positive majority as real, but finish KYC before you build a balance.
A conflict to note: The Spike, SportsGrid and Tech Insider list a 100 SC cash minimum. Modo's current rules and help center both say 50 SC, and we follow the operator.

Verified October 29, 2026 against Modo's Sweepstakes Rules §2 and Terms of Use §3.4–3.5 (both updated October 1, 2026), which exclude SC play in 17 states. Modo's help center also lists Rhode Island as Gold-Coins-only. The rules don't, so we include it to be safe. Washington is blocked from the site entirely; the other states allow Gold Coin play. Eligibility is based on your physical location in real time, not your address. Terms change, so confirm your state on modo.us before you sign up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Modo Casino legit?
Modo.us is run by ARB Gaming, LLC, a Delaware company that names itself as sole sponsor in its Sweepstakes Rules, and it has operated since 2023. Its claimed Trustpilot profile shows 4.4/5 across 9,625 reviews (checked October 29, 2026). It also faces open legal matters: a federal disability-discrimination and fraud suit in the Eastern District of California, a proposed class action in Illinois, and a February 2026 cease-and-desist letter from the Illinois Gaming Board, which ARB disputes. None of these has been decided against Modo. Details are in the Legal Watch section above.
What is the Modo no-deposit bonus?
Modo's homepage shows 20,000 Gold Coins for signing up, with no purchase needed (checked October 29, 2026). Several third-party reviews report that the sign-up offer also includes 1 Sweeps Coin, but Modo's public page does not display an SC amount, so treat the SC portion as unconfirmed until you see it in your account. Gold Coins are for fun play only and can't be redeemed.
What is the Modo first-purchase offer?
This is a paid offer, separate from the free sign-up bonus. Two recent third-party sources (PokerListings, updated September 23, 2026, and Tech Insider, updated October 12, 2026) report a $0.99 first-purchase pack with 17,500 GC plus 5 promotional SC and 550 VIP points. We couldn't confirm it on Modo's store, which requires a logged-in account. Modo's rules say Sweeps Coins can never be purchased; they come only as a free bonus on marked Gold Coin packs.
What is the minimum redemption at Modo?
According to Modo's Sweepstakes Rules (§9) and help center, you need 20 played-through SC for a gift card (via Prizeout) and 50 SC for a cash prize. Several affiliate reviews still quote a 100 SC cash minimum. The operator's own rules say 50 SC, and that's the figure we use. SC must be played through at least once, Modo processes one redemption per account per day, and Florida players are capped at $5,000 per monthly entry period.
How do Modo redemptions get paid?
Per Modo's help center (checked October 29, 2026): standard ACH bank transfer or Visa/Mastercard debit card (the card must have been used for a purchase on Modo first; prepaid cards aren't accepted), PayPal (after uploading a PayPal direct-deposit form), Cash App (added as a bank account), and Prizeout gift cards. Modo says it usually handles standard requests within 24 hours, then banks can take up to 5 business days. A paid Instant option through Trustly is available on eligible banks and cards. The rules allow up to 30 days in some cases.
Which states can't play Modo with Sweeps Coins?
Modo's Sweepstakes Rules and Terms of Use (updated October 1, 2026) exclude SC play in 17 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Washington, and West Virginia. Modo's help center also lists Rhode Island as Gold-Coins-only, which the rules don't mention, so we count 18. Washington is blocked from the site entirely. In Oklahoma, SC play and redemptions end November 1, 2026 under SB 1589.
How do I get free Sweeps Coins from Modo by mail?
Modo's Sweepstakes Rules (§6E) give 3 SC per valid mail-in request. Generate an Envelope Request Code in your account (it expires after 30 days), then handwrite your full legal name, account email, residential address, the code, and the exact statement shown on a 4x6 index card. Sign and date it, and mail it from your verified home state to: ARB Gaming, PO Box 164, Watertown NY 13601. Send one card per envelope. Copy the address from the live rules before you mail, because operators update these details.
Does Modo have an app?
Yes, on iOS only. Modo's help center says it has a dedicated app in the Apple App Store. Android players use the mobile browser.
